In Step #1 we talked about signing up for an affiliate network. If you have not yet done that then you should sign up for Motive Interactive. In Step #2 we talked about finding 5 good products that you can promote.

Step #3 – Find at Least 30 Keywords For Each Product

In order to promote our affiliate offers we are going to write articles which contain a signature link to your landing page. Before we do this we need to find some keywords that we are going to focus on in order to get traffic and results.

Firstly, let me just explain something. When people are searching the net they are doing it in three different mind frames.

The first mind frame is just surfing. These people type in generic terms like “surfboard”.

The second mind frame is someone who is researching. They will type in terms such as “Surfboard review” or even more specifically “JS Surfboard Review”

Then the third mind frame is the buying mind frame. These are the people you mainly want to target because you do not have to convince them to buy, you just need to provide them the opportunity to buy (or sign up). These people use specific searches such as “JS Combat Mode Surfboard 6′2″ or “Buy JS Combat Mode Surfboard” or “JS Combat Mode Surfboard Shipping Costs”. But focusing on these keywords you will target more buyers who are looking to buy.

Ok! Now that we know this we can begin our keyword research

How Do I Find Good Keywords To Use?

This is a good question and it has a very good answer. What we are going to do is focus our attention on finding optimized search results in Google. What does this mean?

Ok, lets put it plain and simple. Go into Google and type in a search option by put it in inverted Commas (” “). For example go to google and type in “Surfboard” this will give you over 3 MILLION search results. Now that is a lot of competition.

Now what we want to focus on is optimized search results that are between 1000-5000. This means there is less competition and a good chance that you can rank high in the search engines. So if we type in “JS Surfboard” then we get about 2,000 results. This is perfect.

So do your research on Google. Try to type in different search results that you think people looking for your product or service would be searching for. Generally the more words you use in a phrase the less results you will get.

Find at least 30 keywords for each of your 5 products. They don’t have to be exactly within the 1000-5000 range but it is better if they are. The less results the more likely you are going to rank high for that search term.

So this is how you do Step #3 and we are getting closer to our goal of making $50 per day within a month. Don’t rush, do this keyword research well and it will reap rewards later. You will end up having 150 targeted keywords (30 for each product).
