Just a quick update that I am not blogging because I am on tour in NZ.
I will post more about it when I get sufficient time (in about 3-4 days).
I am having loads of fun though.

We went to hobbiton (where they filmed Lord of The Rings) and we are having a great time.

I am also developing my non MMO niche plan, which I am sure will be a huge success.

If you read my post yesterday (read it here), then you would know that I have been having thoughts about giving up trying to make money online altogether. I have been struggling for a long time and I am not making enough money to cover all my living expenses. I want to be able to support myself and my wife and I have been feeling like I might need to take some time away from trying to make money online.

I was looking and waiting for some inspiration to keep me going. And I have finally found it.

It came last night as I went to bed. I have been really sick the last two days (like really sick) and I decided that I wanted to get in a good mental and emotional state of mind because I believe that it helps you recover faster. So I was reading the secret and I was reading the section on health. 

It inspired me so I closed my eyes and started breathing deep breaths saying “I feel well”, then another deep breath “I feel wonderful” and actually feeling the feelings of being well and wonderful. I continued to do this for about 30 minutes-1 hour before I fell asleep. Only I didn’t fall asleep because I started having some great ideas and inspiration was flowing through me.

I have been inspired to move outside the Make Money Online niche. The idea of moving into a different niche came to me yesterday when I read John Chow’s post on Running a Million Dollar Business in Less Than 2 hours per Day. He said this and it got me thinking:

What many new “Make Money Online” bloggers may not realize is it’s really hard to do a blog on making money online when you’ve never made any. I think Shoemoney explained it very well in this post. If you look into the backgrounds of all the big make money online bloggers, you’ll see that their main income is not from their make money blogs.

To tell you the absolute truth I started my make money online blog well before I started making good money online. Granted I have made some good money since by doing site flips, domain flips, blogging and freelance writing. But this just got me thinking about maybe moving into another niche.

Another niche could be good because people are not so attuned to sales techniques (like the are in the Internet Marketing niche) and it could also be a bit of fun.

So I have been inspired and I am going to create a website in a niche completely unrelated to making money. I am going to build a subscriber list and market affiliate products and do search engine marketing.

I am not going to reveal the niche yet, but I have picked out a domain name (I just need to get some spare cash to buy it) and I am still developing my money making plan. But my inspiration has come (i believe) because I used the secret to start thinking positively and attracting it to myself.

I woke up this morning a lot better also, so I truely believe that the secret works.

If you are wondering I will definately still be blogging on here about my new adventures. I am going to New Zealand on a working holiday so it will give me a good solid two weeks to think out my strategy and start implementing it. Wish me luck.

Need to make some cash in a hurry? I am going to show you 7 ways you can get some cash quickly.

 

1. Sell Something

This is the easiest way to get money in a hurry. It is likely that you have a whole bunch of things lying around that you no longer need. Go have a look through your junk and grab out anything you can sell. You can either sell your stuff via a garage sale, or you can sell it on ebay. 

I currently have an ipod I don’t need and an external cd burner that I am about to put on ebay to sell. This will free up about $200-$250 for me. You can do the exact same thing.

2. Downsize Your Car

Now I know this is a big one and one that a lot of people will not want to do. But a great way to free up some money is to downsize your car. You may be driving a car worth $10,000 and you could easily downsize to a car worth $5,000. That immediately frees up over $5,000 for you.

I have considered doing this many times, but have not yet been that desperate. But if I ever was that desperate I know that I could do it.

3. Ask One or Many For Money

As writers we will often go through writers block. Writer’s block is where you feel unable to write anything. You will find that as you being to write your creative juices will begin to flow again and you will be able to write just as easily as before you had the writers block.

Sometimes writer’s block comes and goes so it is great to write a little bit extra when you can and have articles in storage. Whenever you experience a block in your writing you can dig into your storage, pull out an article and use that. This gives you time to relax and let your will to write flow back to you.

Pay Someone To Write For You

If you don’t have any articles in storage when writer’s block hits you can always pay someone to write an article or two for you. I would seriously get people to write some articles for this blog right now, only I have no money in my paypal account at the moment.

Find Something Inspiring

Find something around you that will inspire you to write again. I have a photo album by the photographer Christian Fletcher, which is AMAZING! Whenever I feel dull or have a block then I just look at this book and I feel inspired again.

Maybe you need to go down to the lake, or the park and look at some trees. Whatever you think will inspire you to write again do that.

Make Writing Fun Again

Often when a writer has writers block it is because they have lost the joy of writing. If you write for a living then often writing can become a chore and you can come to dislike it. A great way to get past this is to make writing fun again.

You need to think back and remember what it is that you absolutely love about writing. Think about why you started writing and what made it so good. Then try to get back to the place where writing was fun.

A lot about having fun writing is the way you are looking at your writing task. You can make a mundane task fun just by thinking about it. What is fun about the task you have to do? Focus on the fun bit and it just might inspire you.

Do Something Different

If you are having a writing blog then why not mix everything up and do something different. You can make a video or do some design. You can go for a run.

Do something that you wouldn’t normally do. This can often help you get in the mood for writing again.

Building your brand is so important. It helps establish you and helps put you in people minds. You want people to know and trust you, that is how you make sales and make money online.

Pictures speak louder than words and people remember pictures much easier. So use that fact to your advantage

It is time for me to start setting some online goals for May 2009. I want to set some goals and document what I do to achieve them, and also whether or not I achieve them.

Blog

My blog is the first and most important thing that I want to set goals for. I want to be continually building my blog by at least 30% per month. So then my blog will be doubling at least every three months and by the end of the year I will have almost 10,000 subscribers.

Traffic - Traffic in May I want to get 5,000 readers and 10,000 pageviews. This is the same as what I got in March, but moving from SmarterWealth to RyanMcLean.net has lost me a fair bit of search engine traffic. Plan to get this through forum posting, blog commenting, twitter, new posts, search engines and stumble upon

Subscribers - At the moment I have been hovering around the 1,200-1,300 RSS subscriber mark for some time (around 2-3 months). In may I want to officially break the 1,500 RSS subscriber barrier. If I am growing my blog by 30% 

Paid Reviews – Been doing quite a few paid reviews for a discounted price of $25. I have been doing one every 3 days. I would prefer to charge $50 and do one every 5-6 days. That way I can offer better exposure, better reviews and I don’t have to read 10 ebooks per month. April I will have made $200 in paid reviews, in May I want to make $260

Advertising - Advertising has been slow both on Smarter Wealth and RyanMcLean.net. In May I want to fill the 468×60 banner for at least $30 and at least one of the 125×125 banners for at least $10 (discounting makes it easier to get sales)

Twitter

I am pretty much brand new to twitter and I have 107 followers as I write this. By the end of May I want to have over 1,000 followers. WOW! 1,000 followers you say? Isn’t that a big jump?

It is a big jump, but it is quite easy to achieve. All I need to do is follow 1,000 people who promise to follow me back. Then I will have over 1,000 followers…too easy.

I also want to tweet more and start auto tweeting my posts. I want to be getting 20 visitors per day from my twitter account to my blog. 

Income

Well this month I didn’t even document the amount of income I earned online. But in May I want to earn $1,000 in PURE PROFIT.

What happens is that a lot of the money I make gets reinvested. I invest in things like domain names, sales pages, ebook covers, writers and much more.

So this month I want to make $1,000 in pure profit that I can spend on living expense and what not.

I want to release 3 ebooks in May.

I don’t have a goal for the amount of sales I want to achieve, because I am developing these ebooks as a long term income provider. But I want to get at least one sale for each ebook.
